After the apprehension for the sabotage of the railway lines and the fascination of the opening ceremony, in Paris it is time for the races with over 11 thousand athletes from all over the world chasing the first medals up for grabs. Saturday 27th it starts at 8:30 and ends late in the evening for a total of over 15 hours of live coverage.
The main events of Saturday 27th July
Without Jannik Sinner, who announced his withdrawal shortly before the Games due to tonsillitis, Italian tennis will still try to ride the wave of an extraordinary 2024. Without the South Tyrolean, hopes are mainly on the racket of Jasmine Paolini, a finalist at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon. The 28-year-old Tuscan will challenge Romanian Ana Bogdan in singles, while in doubles, paired with Sara Errani, they will face the duo Routliffe/Sun. Debut also for the big names Alcaraz and Djokovic, respectively against Habib and Ebden. Volleyball is also packed: at 1 pm there is the great classic Italy-Brazil, in the evening the USA-Argentina stands out. Eyes are then focused on cycling for the two time trials: among the men Filippo Ganna is aiming for gold, among the women the favorite is the American Dygert.
