Paris 2024 Olympics: Swimming Training Canceled Due to River Seine Pollution Controversy

The controversy continues over the River Seine in France, which has led to the cancellation of a swimming training session today, Sunday, in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Olympic organizers announced the cancellation of a swimming training session ahead of the mixed relay race, after recent heavy rains affected water quality in the River Seine.

The decision was made late yesterday, Saturday, after tests showed that the quality of the water did not meet the required level, after there was rain on Wednesday and Thursday.

Pollution in the River Seine following heavy rain caused the men’s race to be postponed for one day, after swimming training sessions were canceled for two days in a row.

Paris 2024 Olympics spokeswoman Anne Decamps said at a press conference today: “We don’t have the latest numbers, but we hope to be able to organize the competition tomorrow.”

Tyler Mislawchuk passed out 10 times after swimming across the polluted Seine River at the Paris 2024 Olympics, after finishing ninth in the race.

Mislawchuk attributed his expulsion to the high temperature, as he lives in a much colder climate: “The weather got hot in the last few meters, so I sent out 10 times after the end of the previous one I am from an area where the temperature reaches less than 50 degrees Celsius in winter.”

Many blamed the waters of the Seine River for sending Mislawschuk out, as swimmers’ training sessions were canceled due to pollution, after the water that fell sewage overflowed, and some swimmers explained their shameful experiences as a result of the waters of the River Seine.
