Paris 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony: Stars, Highlights, and Medal Standings

The closing ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games will take place in Paris (in Latvia e available to watch Eurosport’s YouTube channel).

The closing ceremony will be held at the Stade de France. Its director, he was also the artistic director of the opening event (but this time everything will be held in one place, and not on the river). The stadium show will feature singer Billie Eilish, rapper Snoop Dogg and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as actor Tom Cruise (promisedthat he will do some trick).

At the end of the ceremony, the Olympic flag is expected to be lowered – it will be given to the country that will be the next host for the summer competition. In 2028, the Olympics will be held in Los Angeles in the USA.

The USA became the medal leader on the last day of the Olympics. With the victory of the women’s basketball team, they are tied with China for the most gold medals, but the Americans have far more money.

At the end of the Olympics, the 15 Russian athletes who competed under a neutral flag had one medal – Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider got silver in women’s doubles tennis.

Russian athletes (apart from Belarus, who also competed under a neutral flag) were not allowed to participate in the opening of the Olympics. The Russians were allowed to participate in the closing ceremony, but they had already left Paris.
