On an exciting but challenging route that had the iconic Place du Trocadero as its goal, Mexican cyclist Marcela Prieto was one of the 14 competitors who failed to complete the road cycling event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
With the Eiffel Tower as a witness, the event brought together 92 talented cyclists who faced a demanding and adrenaline-filled circuit.
Marcela Prieto, who arrived at these Olympic Games with high expectations, suffered a fall halfway through the competition. Despite the incident, the Mexican showed remarkable determination by getting up and continuing to pedal.

However, the demands of the course and the relentless pace of the race led him to make the difficult decision to retire, joining 13 other cyclists who also failed to complete the race.
American Kristen Faulkner was crowned the winner of the competition, achieving a time of 3:59.23 hours, after escaping from the leading group in the last two kilometers.
They were followed in a photo finish by Marianne Vos of the Netherlands, Lotte Kopecky of Belgium and Blanka Vas of Hungary, all recording an unofficial time of 4:00:21 hours.
