François Sauvadet, President of the Departmental Council of the Côte-d’Or, and Monique Yazzourh, Secretary General of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the Côte-d’Or (CDOS21), representing President Bernard Termelet, have formalized the creation of a Directive for the preparation of the 2024 Olympic Games. In the presence of Catherine Louis, Vice-President of the Department in charge of Youth and Sports, and representatives of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, the two institutions agreed to engage in co-construction work to win the Gold Coast, Land of Games, Land of Sports and prepare the passage of the Olympic Flame!

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are also preparing in the departments and the Côte-d’Or is already there! The Department was one of the first communities to obtain the “Terre de Jeux 2024″ label, rewarding the work done with its partners to develop access and the practice of sport for all, everywhere in the Côte-d’Or. The Department is also a relay territory for the Olympic torch, which will pass through France a few days before the opening of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, in early 2024. to honor all the volunteers whose commitment is exemplary as well as the team management , who do an amazing job, and of course our athletes, whether amateur or professional. We must make our young people want to be involved in a sport and bring together the values ​​of Olympism, self-surpassing, a taste for effort, hard work and team spirit,” underlined President Sauvadet.

To promote the Côte d’Or, its inhabitants, its heritage, on the occasion of this planetary event and to promote sport in all its forms and in all territories, the Department has decided to engage with the CDOS in the Olympic approach . “The rise to power around 2024 will pass through the organization of major events that will mobilize the entire population of the Côte-d’Orienne”, Monique Yazzourh points out. The Department has already started the creation of a “Côte-d’Or Volunteer Team”, made up of 24 volunteers who will be involved during the Games.

In 2023, the great Côte d’Or Olympics will be organized for the young people of the Côte d’Orients, to make all the territories vibrate to the rhythm of this great sports festival.

In this proactive approach, the Department, named a pivotal territory by the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games, will soon ask the municipalities of the Côte-d’Or to identify the requests and activities envisaged in the territories.
