Caeleb Dressel came to the Paris 2024 Games with high expectations, but he didn’t achieve all of his goals. In an interview with Forbes by Paras J. Haji, Dressel spoke about his experience at the Arena La Défense in Paris, his victories and his future ambitions, with an eye towards LA28.
Despite managing to win two gold medals and one silver, all in the relay, the swimmer expressed a lot of disappointment with the individual races, sixth in the 50 freestyle and out of the final in the 100 butterfly, placings that the American champion did not it explains itself completely.
During the interview he then underlined the pride of having participated in three Olympics, despite the long break taken after the Tokyo Olympics.
Looking ahead, Dressel said he hasn’t made any final decisions yet, but that the possibility of competing at Los Angeles 2028 is real. He would like to compete at home, especially in the 50 meter freestyle, and perhaps other distances as well. However, he stated that he will have to consult with friends, partners and family before deciding.
Dressel also mentioned the importance of her family, especially with the arrival of her first child, and how that could impact her priorities in the coming years. Despite the uncertainty, she reaffirmed her love for swimming and training, leaving open the possibility of returning to competition. He then renewed his gratitude for the collaboration with the No-bull brand, which supported him during his Olympic journey, recognizing the support he received not only as an athlete, but also as a person.
