Parents WhatsApp group. Do I absolutely need a WRITTEN consent? (School, WhatsApp group)

It’s a little complicated:

I’m going on a school trip from Hamburg to Berlin soon. (Grade 10)

The school trip was not discussed with students or parents. We were not given any information until we received a note saying we had to pay an overpriced 400 euros for 3 nights in the worst youth hostel in Berlin. THERE WAS NO DEADLINE OR ANYTHING ELSE ON THE NOTE.

You must not forget that it is a private school and you have to pay a lot of money every month anyway.

About two weeks after we received the information and papers about the school trip, my parents and I decided that we did not want to pay for it and that I did not want to come along.

I then told my class teacher that I was not going.

After all, they can’t force us to pay 400 euros for a school trip that can never cost more than 200 euros if we haven’t agreed to anything and not a single piece of paper has been signed.

Then my teacher said THE DEADLINE had passed. She never mentioned a deadline and there is nothing in the paperwork that says there is a deadline.

Then she said it was already booked for me even though we didn’t agree to anything and now she’s saying we HAVE to transfer the money. Which of course is nonsense. Just because of their poor planning.

And now she’s writing to my parents saying that it has to be transferred, but my parents don’t want to transfer it, which I think is good. But she’s putting unnecessary pressure on me.

Nothing was signed, nothing was agreed to, there is no deadline that we know of and she thinks it is mandatory to transfer the money!

She keeps talking to me about it at school and I always just say that she should sort it out with my parents.

Of course, my parents don’t agree with her because she’s wrong.

Legally speaking, I don’t have to go on a school trip if I have a good reason, I don’t have to go either but “we still have to pay 400 euros!”

What should I do now?

A discussion about school performance perhaps? My teacher is really crazy

Thanks in advance!
