Juan Pablo Gómez enjoys seeing his eight-year-old son training soccer in the free clinics of the program, Fútbol Para Todos.
“Something very nice and I let you enjoy. And besides, we also enjoy a very healthy environment, which is what today’s youth need,” said Gómez.
The free trainings for children from 7 to 14 years old are given by personnel of the youth program of NYC Soccer Club.
The program is sponsored by Fidelis Care who, together with the NYC Futbol Club, sent applications to various schools in the five city locks, Long Island and Westchester County.
“These events like the New York City Futbol Club are super important because it keeps them busy and also affordable for parents who are going through a time when everything is so expensive,” said Patricia Mahecha, Community Relations, Fidelis Care.
For her part, Gómez seeks opportunities for her son.

“There are very talented children but unfortunately they don’t have the means to be in a school or an academy. It would be very nice if they promoted many free programs for all children,” added Father Gómez.
His son Dylan is a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and recently played in a tournament in Madrid with the David Villa academy team. At the end of the game he shared his experience.
“Okay, some fouls, I scored like ten goals,” Dylan said.
Since its launch in 2021, this free program has trained more than 2,300 children.
“We are going to continue working to create more access, create more programs, so that children can continue to connect to the game and can continue to connect with the institution,” said Lina Cruz, Promotions Manager, NYCFC.

The soccer program for all gives 18 free clinics a year, during six events in different counties of the city. For more information about the program you can visit the website nycfc.com/youth/freefootball
