Mexico City. The fathers and mothers of the 43 Ayotzinapa normal students who disappeared in 2014 held a march this Friday from the Angel of Independence to the Zócalo of Mexico City, where they are expected to reinstall the sit-in they set up last month.
As part of the 115 Global Action for Ayotzinapa, the relatives, who carry signs with photographs of their children, ask that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador meet with them before the June 2 elections to inform them of the progress of the investigations into the events that occurred on September 26 and 27, 2014 in Iguala, Guerrero.
Likewise, they reiterated their demand that the Army hand over the more than 800 pages that it has in its possession, which are – they said – essential to finding the whereabouts of their children.

Shouting “They took them alive, we want them alive!”, the contingent, led by the fathers and mothers of the normalistas, left the Angel of Independence after five in the afternoon and advanced on Paseo de la Reforma. Also marching in the contingent are normalistas from Ayotzinapa and members of the Federation of Socialist Peasant Students of Mexico.
Upon arrival at Antimonument +43, the fathers and mothers performed the usual roll call, and from there they claimed that a few months before the end of this administration, the federal government has not responded to their demand for justice.
“Nine years and seven months later, fathers and mothers take to the streets to continue raising their voices and demand justice and truth for the disappearance of the 43 students,” they noted.
