The parents of the Borussia Dortmund soccer star must leave their family home in Hamburg by the end of July. Although their son Youssoufa Moukoko earns 10 million euros a year, he has stopped paying the installments on the house.
According to the German newspaper Bild, their house on the outskirts of the city was seized and the parents of the 18-year-old footballer are now at risk of being left on the street or living in a refugee camp.
The young German international reportedly waited until he came of age before signing a new contract with Borussia Dortmund. That’s when everything got complicated.
Youssoufa Moukoko stopped giving his parents money and paying for the 351 square meter house, putting them in huge debt. According to the court documents, claims from at least 3 creditors amount to 514,981 euros.
Since his mother was the sole owner of the property, the house was confiscated. However, they received support from the social work center, so Joseph and Marie can go to a makeshift refugee facility located south of Hamburg.
The footballer refused to comment on the whole situation and through his lawyer appealed to his privacy, his father said: “Our son no longer supports us. But do you think I would say something bad about him?”
Youssoufa Moukoko was born in Cameroon. When he was a child, he emigrated with his family to Germany, where he started playing football. The youngster is one of the biggest talents in the Bundesliga and was already transferred to the senior team of Borussia Dortmund at the age of 16.
