Parents name child after Domino’s Pizza and receive free pizza for 60 years

Sydney. When one of the world’s best-known pizza chains celebrates its 60th birthday, it is taken as an opportunity to stir the advertising drum particularly deeply – this is what has now happened with the Australian branch of the Domino’s chain. It promised parents who give birth to their child on December 9th, the day Domino’s Pizza was founded, and name it either Dominic or Dominique, the equivalent of 60 years of free monthly pizza. And, who would have thought, there actually was a couple who enjoyed the fun. And now 10,000 Australian dollars (around 6200 euros) is richer.

Clementine Oldfield and Anthony Lot became the parents of little Dominic Julian Lot on December 9th in Sydney – but it was not planned that the boy was born on the day Domino’s named in their competition. “My mother sent us a screenshot of the promotion and we laughed about it because he was supposed to be born on Tuesday and not on Wednesday,” said Anthony Lot of the TV show “A Current Affair”. However, his wife was then in labor for a full 72 hours – and so Dominic was actually born on the 9th.

But it is also true that the couple decided on the name Dominic long before they were born: “It has been one of my favorite names since I was a child,” said the happy mother.

But why not take part in the strange competition: Shortly after the birth, the proud parents submitted the birth certificate of their Dominic to Domino’s – and are now not only happy, but also $ 10,000 richer.
