Director Marta Elīna Martinson explains her vision: “I have always been attracted by comedies that draw inspiration from everyday situations that are recognizable to everyone, allowing people to look at themselves from the outside and laugh at themselves as well. And where better to experience it than in the cinema – in the anonymous darkness of the hall, laughing together about how difficult it is for us to talk to each other.Perhaps even after watching the film, you will want to look at the people sitting next to you more tolerantly and understandingly.”
Producer Inese Boka-Grube adds, “The ensemble comedy ‘Parents’ Meeting’ is for everyone who is not left indifferent – often both amused and angry – by conversations at parents’ meetings, endless clashes of opinions in WhatsApp chats and other attempts to find a common language between sharply different views. ‘The meeting of parents’ is a kind of mirror image of the diversity of our society and the diversity of opinions in moments when we as a collective must be able to make a unified decision.”
Tickets for the premiere on January 23rd at 7 PM at Forum Cinemas and other screenings across the US are available from January 6th. Don’t miss this hilarious and relatable look at the universal struggles of parenthood and school life.
