Jakarta (ANTARA) –
The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 asked parents to report findings of post-immunization follow-up (KIPI) experienced by children to the puskesmas after being vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Parents can report the findings of AEFI experienced by their child to the puskesmas or to the vaccination center as input for evaluating the implementation of future vaccinations and further handling,” said Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Prof. Wiku Adisasmito at a press conference that was attended online in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He said parents were also asked not to panic if there were some indications of AEFI after COVID-19 vaccination, such as pain in the arm at the injection site, headache or muscle aches, joint pain, chills, nausea or vomiting, fatigue, fever marked by a temperature above 37.8 degrees Celsius, as well as flu-like symptoms and chills for one to two days.
“Parents can make early treatment efforts by making their children rest enough and take fever-reducing drugs if needed and consume enough water,” he said.
He added that if there is pain at the injection site, keep moving and use the child’s arm to do activities.
