The parent company of home delivery service, Just Eat Takeaway, merges with the American industry colleague Grubhub. The companies announced on Wednesday evening that they had reached an agreement.

The merger of the companies was already announced on Wednesday. According to the American business newspaper The Wall Street Journal Grubhub previously spoke to delivery company Uber about a merger, but the talks came to nothing.
Earlier this year, the Dutch Takeaway was already taken over by the British Just Eat, an acquisition that created not only one of the largest delivery services in the world, but also a delivery service that covered all of Europe. Now that Grubhub is merged with the company, a further spread to the United States is a fact.
The chain will soon have locations in 25 countries. The headquarters of Just Eat Takeaway will remain in Amsterdam, Grubhub will have its headquarters in Chicago.
