Parent company Facebook tackles companies for online espionage | internet

According to Meta, the parent company of Facebook, the perpetrators claim that they only target criminals and terrorists. More than 48,000 people from more than 100 countries were suspected of being targeted by the companies. Meta says they are journalists, dissidents, critics of authoritarian regimes and families of opposition and human rights activists. They have all been warned.

Meta has not provided any information on how it identifies the “cyber mercenaries”. Four of the companies are from Israel and the rest from India, China and North Macedonia.
