Parent company British Airways orders another 37 aircraft from Airbus

The order consists of 12 options that are now being converted into a final order, and a new deal for 25 aircraft. According to IAG, it will be determined at a later stage which aircraft will be delivered as A320neo and which as A321neo. It has also not yet been decided whether British Airways, Iberia, Vueling or Aer Lingus will fly the new aircraft.

Deliveries are planned between 2025 and 2028. The aircraft are intended to replace older A320s. This type is employed by all IAG subsidiaries.

It is the third time this year that IAG has shopped with Airbus. An order was announced at the end of June for 14 A320neo series aircraft and in March the airline group bought 8. In addition, a purchase contract was signed with Boeing in May for the delivery of 50 MAX aircraft, with an option for a further 100 units.
