Yesterday, the city of Pardubice ceremoniously awarded 173 talented pupils and students who achieved exceptional success in various fields such as sports, mathematics, foreign languages, chemistry, music, physics and other fields. The handover ceremony took place in the Hronovická House of Culture, where the 1st Deputy Mayor Jakub Rychtecký and the Chairman of the Commission for Education, Education and Family František Němec praised the young talents for their great representation of the city.
“This year, the event saw a major innovation, namely the introduction of a new logo for the award ceremony for the most successful students. We decided to refresh the identity of this traditional event and approached the pupils themselves from our primary schools to design a new name and logo for the traditional award. From the seven nominated teams led by the lecturer of the Spéra educational center, the expert jury selected the Pardubická supernova proposal, which is simply cool to Pardubice teenagers,” said Jakub Rychtecký, deputy responsible for education, when presenting the award. The winning design was created by Simona Srdínková and Jakub Poláček from ZŠ Ohrazenice. All the teams that participated in the creation of the new identity and the new logo were awarded a financial reward during the evening.
Every year, the Commission for Education, Education and the Family proposes awards to pupils and students of Pardubice elementary, elementary art and secondary schools who have placed in the top ranks in regional, national and international competitions. “This year, 144 students from elementary schools, lower secondary schools and elementary art schools and 29 students from secondary schools met the criteria. I am happy about that, excellent results in our schools are not lacking even though we have tightened the evaluation criteria. It’s a very good certificate not only for pupils and their parents, but also for our schools and teachers who support them in their journey,” said deputy Rychtecký. These pupils and students received a financial reward, vouchers to visit the Sphere educational center, backpacks, stickers with the new logo. Pupils and young students were awarded for their extraordinary achievements in the fields of science, sports, art and other sectors with a certificate of appreciation with the new name “Pardubická supernova”. Here, Supernova presents young stars who shine with their potential and unique abilities. This name symbolizes their talent and talent, which, if their willpower and determination to work on themselves endure, will predestinate them to further great results and the achievement of their life goals,” explained Rychtecký.
Among the award winners this year, the athletes who represented the city at the Children and Youth Olympics in České Budějovice, held from June 23 to 27, 2024, stood out. Nineteen young athletes scored points in disciplines such as karate, athletics, floorball, triathlon and swimming, orienteering, and not only at the Children’s and Youth Olympics, but also at the Czech Championship and other international competitions.
The gala evening, with financial support from Foxconn’s new award partner, opened with a fanfare by the Pardubice Brass Band, followed by the presentation of the new logo. Julián Záhorovský’s performance made the break before the next program more pleasant, when students from elementary schools, lower gymnasiums and elementary art schools were awarded. The next break was enriched by Daniela Váňová playing the accordion and the 24-member children’s music choir Zpěváčci, who also appeared among the awardees. “This celebration gives us the opportunity to highlight not only individual achievements, but also the collective efforts of educators, schools and families. You can see how strong the education system is in Pardubice, and how important it is that we continue to support talented pupils and students in their journey to further education and success,” said František Němec, city representative and chairman of the Commission for Education, Education and Family.
