Pardon of prisoners of the outbreak: Senator Araya says that bill would be voted “in mid-August” in the Constitution commission

The president of the Senate Constitution commission, Pedro Araya, reported that the bill to pardon the so-called prisoners of the social outbreak would be voted in the instance in mid-August. The parliamentarian clarified the information in a video, after it circulated on social networks that the vote would take place tomorrow.

“The information that is circulating on social networks, that tomorrow, Tuesday, August 3, the Constitution Commission is going to vote on the bill that establishes a pardon for the prisoners of the revolt, is absolutely false,” said Araya.

“Tomorrow they are invited to expose to the commission different lawyers who are for and against this initiative, later we will receive another group of lawyers who was requested by the relatives of the revolt who want to expose, too, why should vote in favor of this project “, he added.

Along these lines, he estimated that the initiative “probably” would be voted on “in mid-August” in the Senate Constitution committee. After that, it would go to general discussion in the Chamber and, if indications are entered, it would return to said committee. Eventually, a particular vote would be taken, both in the aforementioned legislative body and in the Chamber.
