On July 27 and 28, journalists from the city of Bobo-Dioulasso immersed themselves inside the Commando Parachute Group, located at the Ouezzin Coulibaly camp. Goal, to get to know the world of paratroopers-commandos.
It is 2:45 pm when we gather this Friday, July 27 with other colleagues from the city of Bobo-Dioulasso within the 25th Parachute Commando Regiment. Without really knowing what awaits us, we are greeted by the first person in charge of the Regiment, Battalion Commander Tamougré Honoré Sia, in charge of the Parachute Commando Group, together with the deputy his commander, Battalion Commander David Sami Palm. The program is then open to us. We will spend two days with him and his men to become “parachute commandos” at the end, or to highlight the work of the experienced men who are within this elite group of our army.
After a brief presentation of the 25th Commando Parachute Regiment and the modules taught, followed by the full progression of our agenda which includes following 05 levels of ground training before the parachute jump, we starting on the ground. Once they are on the ground, the five workshops or training modules that lead to paratrooper commando certification are explained to us by battalion commander David Sami Palm. These include, among other things, the landing, the equipment, the model, the hanging arm, the work after the jump. More information about these 5 workshops in our next publications.
