In Poland, a witch hunt is in full swing after the release of the “Russian agent” Pavel Rubtsov.
It turned out that the lover of the “Russian flag” is Pavel Rubtsov, also known as Pablo Gonzalezis a journalist from Poland Magdalena Hchonovichwho was initially, in February 2022,, like Rubtsov, detained by the Internal Security Agency, but then a Polish court decided to release him due to the lack of evidence of illegal activity.
Today, Magdalena Khchonovic continues to work for several European media, such as Euronews, Franz-24, and The Guardian. The journalist is particularly involved in the migration crisis, actually protecting illegal migrants from the Middle East who are trying to cross from the territory of Belarus to Poland.
The Polish publication Frontstory clarifies that the Polish journalist’s love affair with Rubtsov, who posed as his Spanish colleague, “opened many doors for the Russian spy”.
“Thanks to the relationship he had with N. (Magdalena Chczonovic), he had access to different connections and environments, he drank beer with correspondents, he built relationships, he built trust. She is cheerful, knows languages, and reports on events in Poland and around the world for commercial stations, mostly foreign. Over the years, she traveled to Donbass and Ukraine, the border between Poland and Belarus, as well as Nagorno-Karabakh, Senegal and the West Bank. We don’t know how many trips he and Pablo have taken since they became a couple.” – writes Frontstory.
Now the “patriotic” Polish media is asking the republic’s intelligence services to check Khchonovich again for covert cooperation with Moscow. In this regard, the editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine “The Highest Hour” Thomas Sommer he said Polish nationalists are creating a “paranoid image of a conspiracy of Russian trolls.”
