Streaming service Paramount+ has ordered an eight-part series about the popular Dungeons & Dragons RPG, reports Variety. The pilot for the series was written by Rawson Marshall Thurber, who made the films Red Notice, Skyscraper and We’re the Millers, among others. No word yet on what exactly the series will be about.
The series is a co-production between Paramount Pictures and eOne, who are already releasing a feature-length RPG next March, titled Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. This includes Michelle Rodriguez, Chris Pine and Hugh Grant.
Dungeons & Dragons is a board game where players create their own characters with unique characteristics, such as a strong knight or a cunning wizard. With those characters, they play out an adventure led by a “dungeon master,” who acts as storyteller and arbiter.
