Paraguayan Olympic Committee asks Luana Alonso to leave the Olympic Village in Paris

The Olympic swimmer Luana Alonsoknown both for her sporting exploits and for her role as an influencer, has been forced to leave the Olympic Village in Paris after receiving a formal statement from the Paraguay Olympic Committeey.

Larissa Schaerer, the committee’s head of mission, sent an email to Alonso asking him to leave the premises because, in her words, he was “creating an inappropriate environment.”

Luana Alonso, 20, had concluded her participation in the Olympic Games after being eliminated after finishing in sixth place in her race. Taking advantage of her stay in Paris, she decided to visit some of the most iconic sites in the city and took some time to enjoy Disneyland.

However, his return to the sports village was not well received by the committee, who considered his presence as a distraction for the Paraguayan team.

The email sent by Larissa Schaerer, revealed by ABC Paraguay, read: “Your presence today is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within the Paraguay team. We would appreciate it if you proceeded as instructed, since it was of your own free will that you did not spend the night in the Athletes’ Village.”

This controversy comes at a crucial time for Alonso, who had previously announced her retirement from professional swimming. On her social media, the swimmer expressed her gratitude towards the sport that saw her grow and achieve her dreams: “Swimming: thank you for allowing me to dream, you taught me to fight, to try, perseverance, sacrifice, discipline and many other things,” she wrote on Instagram, thus saying goodbye to her sports career.
