In Netflix’s ‘Solo Hell 3’, attractive single men and women engage in a fiery flirting war while appealing to each other’s charms. The reward for the unstoppable and passionate appeal is a day at ‘Heavenly Island’ where you can ignite a romantic night. I went to that hot place, Jeju Dream Tower (Grand Hyatt Jeju), in person at the end of the year. <편집자주>
[마이데일리 = 강다윤 기자] A hot dating reality show for singles. ‘Solo Hell 3’ lived up to its title and set the shortest season record of entering ‘Heaven Island’ within 30 minutes of the first meeting. Those who took off in a helicopter quickly left Hell Island and arrived at ‘Heaven Island.’
The ‘Heaven Island’ they arrived at is Jeju Dream Tower, the highest and largest complex in Jeju and the only urban complex resort in Korea. Located at Nohyeong Intersection in New Jeju, known as Jeju’s Myeongdong, this is a twin tower with a total floor area of 303,737㎡, which is 1.8 times larger than the 63 Building, and a height of 169m (38 floors). It has become a landmark of Jeju in itself.

I don’t know how many inquiries about the location have been pouring in as soon as ‘Heaven’s Road’ was exposed in ‘Solo Hell 3’. It was the final blow that solidified my shaky heart. I bought a ticket to Jeju faster than anyone else, thinking that I might miss ‘Heavenly Island’ if I were not careful.
When I departed from Gimpo and arrived in Jeju Island, I was surrounded by warm air that was different from Seoul. As soon as I left Jeju Airport, the imposing appearance of the tallest building in Jeju Island, along with the palm trees that added to my excitement, caught my eye. I arrived at ‘Heaven Island’ in just 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport.
The place where we spent the first day of ‘Heavenly Island’ was the ‘Corner Suite’, a room at the Hotel Grand Hyatt Jeju in Jeju Dream Tower. As I opened the door and stepped forward, the blinds went up automatically and smoothly.
What immediately caught the eye in the ‘Corner Suite’ with a room area of 130 m² was the floor-to-ceiling glass window. What immediately crossed my mind were the exclamations of Ha-jung Yoon and Min-gyu Park from ‘Solo Hell 3’ who shared the same room.

As Ha-jeong Youn said, “Shouldn’t you enjoy the view from here?”, the sparkling blue sea, Hallasan Mountain, and cute downtown Jeju were all visible at a glance in a panoramic view. Thanks to the high ceiling, you can tilt your head back and enjoy the full sky. It was also refreshing to leisurely watch a plane fly across the sky from the sofa where the two shared a shy self-introduction.
The ‘corner suite’ located at the edge of the building is easy to understand if you think that there are no walls blocking the view. The corner view, which is not the ‘corner’ of the living room, but rather has two sides open with full-length windows, is also a photo spot in the room where you can take a proof shot. As I stood in front of it, various celebrities’ Instagram accounts passed by. As a side note, there are no celebrities who have stayed at Grand Hyatt Jeju under its sponsorship. No matter how ‘hot’ a top star is, they are all ‘made with my own money’.

Another unexpected feature in this room is the Norwegian brand ‘Stressless’ recliner. If you stretch out your legs and place them on top of it, you can enjoy everything from the city view with floating clouds to the night view with twinkling neon signs, as comfortably as if you were lying in bed. The moment you drink a glass of beer, this is ‘Heaven Island’.
In addition, top-of-the-line furniture such as hardwood floors, a wide sofa, a ceramic dining table for 6 people, and a round marble island bathtub create a dream stay in ‘Heavenly Island.’ You can also feel the traditional beauty and artistic atmosphere of Korea through the high-quality works of Korean artists placed throughout the room. A high-quality Simmons bed, 400-count premium sheets, and goose down pillows and blankets are provided, and you can choose between super king size (2m x 2m) or twin size (1.5m x 2m).

All suite guests have free access to the ‘Grand Club’ lounge service located on the 6th floor. Private check-in and check-out, a simple breakfast buffet, afternoon tea and snacks, and evening cocktails are provided. You can enjoy special services while looking at the panoramic view of Jeju city through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The second day in ‘Heavenly Island’ was spent at the ‘Diplomatic Suite’ where Lee Kwan-hee stayed with Choi Hye-sun and Yoon Ha-jeong, respectively. When she enters the guest room, her eyes can’t help but widen. It is an overwhelming size that is difficult to find in any other hotel. There is a reason for Choi Hye-sun’s exclamations, “Isn’t it just a hotel room?” and “I think fifteen people can come.” The fresh flowers that Ha-jeong Youn said were “pretty like me” also showed off their elegant appearance throughout the room.

No matter what anyone says, the flower of a hotel is the guest room, and the flower of that room is the bed. The bed in the ‘Diplomatic Suite’ lived up to its name. The moment I lay down, the warm bedding made me feel cozy, and as I snuggled in and lightly rubbed my cheek, I heard a pleasant rustling sound. Although I have unusual skin that causes skin problems at the slightest scratch, I didn’t use the pillow cover I brought separately and just used the one in my room. The next morning and until I left the hotel, my skin was clearer than ever.
Additionally, the generous size of the bed that allowed one to roll around to one’s heart’s content gave me a sense of freedom as if I had the whole world. When Lee Kwan-hee, lying on the extra bed, said, “The bed is too short,” I remembered Choi Hye-sun saying, “Come here.” There may have been a distance between the two that was instantly narrowed in ‘Heavenly Road’, but I realized it the moment I lay down on the bed. The wide, spacious, and soft bed must have made Choi Hye-sun’s heart soft.

The bathroom, designed with a modern European design, has separate spaces including the sink, toilet, shower room, and bathtub. BVLGARI amenities, which are different from other rooms, are arranged neatly, and there is also a remote control so that you can use the TV, which you can’t leave for a moment. After relaxing in the pure white marble bathtub, I opened the door to the bedroom and enjoyed the luxury of taking a bath and enjoying the night view.
Jeju Dream Tower, the tallest and largest complex resort in Jeju, operates the hotel Grand Hyatt. Grand Hyatt, where all rooms are located above the Jeju altitude limit (55m), boasts 1,600 all-suite rooms.
While the Netflix entertainment show ‘Solo Hell 3’ is causing a global craze not only in Korea but also in Japan and China, attention is being focused on the hotel room that served as the setting for Heavenly Island. Lee Kwan-hee and Choi Hye-sun, who arrived at Cheondo Island and looked inside the room, were amazed when they saw the open view, spacious room, and luxurious interior. The ‘Diplomatic Suite’ is a 195m² super suite of which there are only five. The five ‘Diplomatic Suites’ located on the high-rise floors from the 35th to the 37th floor use French luxury furniture Roche Boboa with different designs, and the artwork, room layout, view, and color are all different, giving them a variety of unique charms. I can feel it.
The bedroom provides the best sleep using only a Swedish luxury brand Deuxiana super king size (2m x 2m) bed worth 40 million won and customized 700 thread count premium bedding. The largest bath room in Korea is equipped with a large white bathtub made of natural Italian marble, a steam shower, and a sauna. It is a place where you can find both modern interior design and elegant relaxation.

Could there be anything better suited to the setting of ‘Road to Heaven’? In that way, the ‘Heavenly Island’ that was given to me as a gift at the end of the year also became a sparkling memory.
