One of the founders and CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, left the leadership position and handed it over to technology development chief Paradge Agraval. He is a veteran with a 10-year career in the company and his immediate appointment is being held back as a confirmation of the strategy to double annual profits by 2023.
It is also a signal that the company has a long-term ambition to meet the expectations of its users faster and to reform the way it operates as one of the first and most popular social networks in the world, Reuters commented.
With the decision, “Twitter” confirms the tendency for the management to be entrusted to an insider – this is what Apple, “Amazon” and “Alphabet” have already done.
Agraval joined the company as a software engineer, and has been in office since 2017. He was in charge of technical strategy and improving the pace of software upgrades while introducing elements of artificial intelligence.
For two years now, Agraval has been working on the Blueskay project, an independent team of architects, engineers and designers of open source products to combat misleading information and aggression on Twitter.
A doctor of computer science from Stanford and a bachelor of computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, he previously worked for Microsoft, Yahoo and AT&T Labs on Twitter.
The change takes effect immediately and includes a new Chairman of the Board – Brett Taylor from sales
“I’m really sad and really happy. There aren’t many lighting companies that reach that level,” wrote Jack Dorsey. He added that the decision to withdraw was his personal.
