Paradis Kid’s: A Summer Haven for Water Games and Fun for Families and Tourists

The Paradis Kid’s attracts, during the summer period, Cévennes and other tourists who love water games.

Céline and Daphné relax on deckchairs. “We came to enjoy a day with friends, with the children. For them to have fun in the sun”, says the first. The second concedes that “with this weather, we are looking for water games”. Both, from Saint-Ambroix, had never crossed the tripods of Paradis Kid’s d’Anduze, a site they first discovered “on social networks”, before bringing their children there, aged 3, 5 and 13 years old. “It’s nice!”, they say, smiling. “There is shade, it’s clean…” Further on, Zoubir is, for his part, a regular at the place. He has been coming there for three years, four or five times a summer. “For children, it’s practical. And then, it’s secure,” he explains. “Frankly, I recommend it to families. Eyes closed!” As he relaxes while the children, aged 7, 9 and 10, who came with him play in the water, this Alésien specifies that here, “we also meet a lot of friends”.

Eight imposing inflatable modules featured

Located a stone’s throw from the heart of the Porte des Cévennes, Paradis Kid’s, which used to be a Luna Park, has existed for six years. In just a few seasons, the site has taken its mark and built up a reputation. “It’s a family park”, explains Christian Benonie, the manager, accompanied by his wife Rosa. “Vacationers come, but there are also a lot of people from the region. And, often, they are regulars.” This is confirmed by the attendance in the afternoon of this Tuesday, July 18. Adults relax. Children swim, slide and enjoy some thrills. Laughter and other outbursts of voice are permanent. “Here, we come to have a good time, quiet, while refreshing ourselves,” he continues.

An area of 500 m2 with water jets

On a vast space, the Paradis Kid’s concentrates 37 attractions (on a dry part and another wet), including 500 m2 of water jets. And it offers, this summer, some new features: three large modules have, in fact, been replaced. Because, yes, it is mainly the imposing inflatable modules that attract the youngest; there are eight of them and they allow them, for some, to slide for a long time starting from very high, before finishing their race in a basin.

On the edge of these pools, customers also have a guinguette, run by Wendy, the daughter of Christian and Rosa Benonie. To have lunch or buy a snack. Or quench your thirst when the sun is too strong. “When it’s too hot, people tend to come in the late afternoon, from 4 p.m.,” notes the manager.

Tourism: “it’s starting to move”

And this year’s tourists? To hear the people in charge of the place, they have been waiting and are just starting to arrive. According to Christian Benonie, “it’s starting to move” and the peak of the season is expected, he thinks, “between July 20 and August 15”.
