“living heritage” “>>> Electro music at the closing of the 2024 Olympic Games, the consecration of a “living heritage”
This title, unveiled during the arrival of the Olympic flame in Marseille on May 8, was broadcast throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games, in particular during the torch relays and the medal presentations to the athletes. It is also the melody that launched the river parade on the Seine, during the opening ceremony on July 26 in Paris.
It starts with a light, pop tune, with violins, then builds up in power with a symphony orchestra, moves to an epic register with choirs, to become an electro loop typical of the French Touch, with a festive coloring.
From Thursday, September 12, Parade will be offered on the Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Tidal, Qobuz platforms, in two versions, one complete (11 minutes) and one short (5 min 40), specified Victor Le Masne who says “very happy“.
In the first one, we feel “all emotional registers” wanted, ““greatness”, “power”, “joy”, “sports fever” et ““music that unites”. The second, a sort of “condensed”, “I wanted to give it to everyone so that we could dance to it more easily”, he explained.
This is going to be “the soundtrack of our memories“, hopes the director of the music of the Olympics, according to whom “Pop culture has invited itself to these Games.”
He, who also composed other pieces heard during the opening and closing ceremonies, announced “a complete album” of his Olympic compositions, at a date still unknown.
“On the tracks with other artists (Aya Nakamura, Lady Gaga, Céline Dion, Kavinsky and Angèle…, Editor’s note), I’m not sure that everything can come out, it’s a little more complicated” but we’re “working on it”he continued.
Asked about the parade of athletes planned for Saturday, September 14 on the Champs-Élysées, Victor Le Masne promised “a great concert with artists”He will also be responsible for the musical direction.
This is not the first Olympic song to be released on platforms: since August 30, the title played by the metal band Gojira with the opera singer Marina Viotti during the opening ceremony has been available for streaming.
