SAN DIEGO, California, December 28, 2022.- The new edition of the “Holiday Bowl Parade” begins this Wednesday, which is why some avenues in downtown San Diego will not have the usual traffic.
The authorities have specified that on this occasion the famous parade will begin at 10:00 and will take place from Harbor Drive, near the Convention Center, until it ends on the Pacific Coast Highway near G Street.
Past editions’ route began at the San Diego County Government Building, south of Grape Street on North Harbor Drive, and ended south on Harbor Drive.
The organizers specify that the “Holiday Bowl Parade” will consist of 24 giant balloons, three allegorical floats, 18 specialized units and 12 marching bands, in which university bands will also participate.
After the event, at 5pm, Petco Park will host the Holiday Bowl game, with a match between the schools of Oregon and North Carolina, which was not possible during the last edition.
In addition, there is the “Holiday Bowl 5K Walk/Run” race, which will run from Park Boulevard to the corner of Harbor Drive and all the way to Ruocco Park, where at least a thousand runners are estimated to participate.
Citizens are advised to take precautions against boulevard closures, if planning to cross into the United States, alternative routes are advised.
