The Zona Alta hosted a fashion show yesterday afternoon in support of breast cancer patients and families. The event took place in the pedestrian part of Fleming avenue and was organized by the Associació Zona Alta Lleida, Lenceria Xabel·la, Pinocchio and Anne Couture. The event was presented by José Antonio García Barranco and there was also a table with volunteers from the Associació Contra el Càncer de Lleida.
Under the motto “Treu pit”, models of all ages paraded before dozens of people who were able to enjoy different models of street clothes as well as the latest news in intimate clothing. The objective of the initiative is to raise funds for relatives and patients with cancer as well as to stimulate the local commerce of the Upper Zone, with the exhibition of products from neighborhood stores. Likewise, the volunteers carried out a task to disseminate and raise awareness about the different activities and services that the association offers to users.
Yesterday’s parade is one of the events that has been carried out in recent days on the occasion of World Day against Breast Cancer. In the Lleida regions about 300 new cases are diagnosed each year while users and entities warn of the great impact that Covid has had on treatments and vindicate the importance of investing in research.
