Paquetá placed at Manchester City: “Must do my job at West Ham”

The English giants have reached an agreement with West Ham for a price tag of £80m, according to credible reports.

As a result of an investigation into betting violations, however, Manchester City chose to back out – and the attacking midfielder remained at West Ham.

However, Paquetá has continued to be linked with Manchester City during the season – and there are rumors of a move in the upcoming summer window.

Now the offensive Brazilian speaks out about the speculation.

Have enormous respect for the club.

– I have to do my job here at West Ham. I have enormous respect for the club. I enjoy it very much here, I would be lying if I said I don’t, he told ESPN.

The midfielder then admits that the speculation is understandable – but that full focus at the moment is on ending the season with West Ham in a good way.

Focusing on doing my best.

– It is clear that it includes a lot of things off the pitch, but I am focused on doing my best and finishing the season well. I started well and I hope to finish well. What they say (about Manchester City) is about last summer. Now it’s time to end the season and then wait to see what happens, says the 26-year-old.

The attacking midfielder has contributed four goals and six assists in 28 appearances in the Premier League this season.

Paquetá’s contract with West runs until the summer of 2027.
