Papua’s Economy Grows 8.97 Percent in 2022, BPS: Driven by the Transportation and Export Sector

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) The Papua Province stated that the regional economy would grow 8.97 percent in 2022 compared to 2021. This figure was driven by the start of the economic recovery from the impact of COVID-19.

“Apart from that, other business fields that experienced high growth were mining and quarrying by 16.13 percent and electricity and gas procurement by 6.73 percent,” he said.
