Papua Health Office and Asmat collaborate to handle dengue outbreaks

Jayapura (ANTARA) – The Papua and Asmat Health Offices are still dealing with cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) that have attacked the community in Agats District.

The Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Papua Health Service, Dr. Aaron Rumainum, Friday in Jayapura admitted that the extraordinary incident (KLB) of DHF that attacked the community in Agats District had attacked 58 people, one of whom died.

Various preventive measures have been taken by fogging or fumigation and spreading of abate powder.

In addition, the public is advised to close water reservoirs so that they do not become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, especially the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

Aaron also hopes that the community always maintains cleanliness, especially puddles which if not cleaned can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

“Hopefully, by cleaning the house and the environment, the mosquitoes will not be able to breed,” he said.
