Papua Center volunteers declare support for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election. Papua Center volunteers hope that Prabowo-Gibran will win in one round.
“Papua Center provides support. To the presidential candidate Mr Haji Prabowo Subianto and vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Prabowo-Gibran won one round. All Papua Center network activists supported Prabowo’s candidate pair. The presidential and vice presidential pair Mr Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka became President of the Republic of Indonesia and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia 2024-2029,” said the Director of the Papua Center, Franky Umpain at Prabowo’s residence, Kertanegara IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday (19/1/2024).
Franky said February 14 was Prabowo’s day of love for the Indonesian people. He said Papua Center volunteers agreed to support Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election.
“Guards until February 14 must agree that the day of love is February 14. That is the day where we all agree that Prabowo’s day of love is for the Indonesian people, us,” he said.
He hopes that Prabowo will continue President Joko Widodo’s program if he wins the 2024 presidential election. He said resolving the conflict in Papua by involving traditional, religious and stakeholder leaders must be Prabowo’s concern if he is later elected president.
“We hope that after being elected, Mr. Prabowo Subianto and Mr. Gibran Rakabuming Raka will continue the programs and policies of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo in the development of Papua and try to resolve conflicts in Papua with formulas and alternatives involving traditional leaders, religious leaders and stakeholders, so that the conflict in Papua can be ended immediately,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Komnas HAM Commissioner Natalius Pigai said Prabowo could not receive direct support from the Papua Center because he was busy. He claims to be an eternal supporter of Prabowo.
“I am a bit special because I am an eternal supporter of Mr. Prabowo Subianto, it’s not new, you all know that I am an eternal supporter, not new. I am not in TKN, nor in the Golkar political party and not in Gerindra or anywhere else, but Prabowo Subianto’s problem is Natalius Pigai’s problem ,” said Pigai in his speech when receiving support from Papua Center volunteers.
He said Prabowo was a leader who paid attention to the small things. These include food, education and health needs.
“Every time I meet Prabowo’s words ‘Natalius, how is the child’s food? How is the child’s school? How is the child’s health?’ “What the nation’s elite never talk about is education and health, which means that Prabowo Subianto is a nation’s elite who thinks about small things,” he said.
He said that if Papua supported Prabowo, the Papuan people would have given their voting rights 2 hours earlier in the presidential election. He is confident that the Papuan people will support Prabowo-Gibran, starting with support from the Papua Center volunteers.
“What this nation needs is that it is time for your vote from the eastern horizon to be cast in two hours for other people to vote, so if Papua chooses Prabowo then Papua will have chosen Prabowo as president and Gibran as vice president, two hours before other people make their choice. ” said Natalius Pigai.
“So I believe that the Papuan people will give their full support. I am sure that Papua province can win big, Mountain Papua will win big, West, Central, South will win big, West will also be the same, Southwest will at least be almost 60 percent, but if we go down we can win “It’s big, then don’t break off communication. Pak Prabowo will provide minimal attention through us,” he added.
