The way the government must deal with the new increases in energy prices due to the flare-up in the Middle East was pointed out by the president of SYRIZA’s KO, Nikos Pappas, with his statements from the floor of the Parliament.
“The possibility of a generalized conflict in the Middle East, a possibility that we avoid, increases energy prices” he said initially and added:
“Our position to take measures such as the reduction of indirect taxes and the imposition of a ceiling on the profits of energy companies acquires a new urgency.
»The budget revenues allow it. It’s way above expectations.
The government must act early and proactively before the full burden of the unrest falls on the shoulders of households and businesses.”
