PAOK – Olympiacos 2-3: “Double” top for the red and whites –

Olympiacos was better and escaped from Toumba by winning the derby of PAOK‘s 11th game 3-2. With the “three points”, the Piraeus caught AEK and Ari at the top of the league with 21 points, while Dikephalos of the North fell to fourth place with 20 points.

The first chances were lost for the hosts. In the 6th minute, Pirola was unable to clear the ball, but Despodov’s finish from an advantageous position was poor. In the 8th minute, after some fights, the ball ended up in Thomas who also did not make a good finish.

In the 16th minute, the red and whites threatened Katarski’s goal. Carmo found Zelson on Otto’s back, the Portuguese crossed, Kostulas headed home but the Croatian goalkeeper cleared the danger. In the next minute, Karmo took the header, after a corner, with Kostinias unable to “see” the net.

Olympiacos had turned up the pace and in the two minutes 24′-25′ created two more phases. Initially Kostoulas missed with a shot from inside the area and then Kotarski saved El Kaabi’s attempt.

In the 27th minute, Kostinia sent a cross, Kostoulas tried to find El Kaabi with a heel, but Otto caught up and cleared the ball.

Kostoulas

The young striker was dangerous and in the 32nd minute he justified his coach for his choice. Tsiquinio crossed and Kostoulas made it 0-1 with a header.

In the 44th minute, Tyson shot, the ball countered and went to Živkovic who was off target.

At the beginning of the second half, PAOK (Razvan Lucescu was not on the bench due to suspension) made three consecutive changes to enter the match with more energy. And that happened, however Olympiacos in a counterattack in the 50′ scored a second goal against El Kaabi (0-2).

The game had an incredible pace and the phases were continuous. Dikephalos reduced the score in the 59th minute. Constantelias tried to press into the area, Danny García countered him, the ball was laid to Bamba who made it 1-2 with a spot kick.

PAOK pressed for the equalizer, but Olympiacos scored a third goal in the 69th minute. The hosts took a corner, but then made two serious mistakes. Ciquinho made a vertical pass to Nelson and he beat Kotarski (1-3).

The match was not over. In the 81st minute, Živković crossed and Karmo sent the ball into his team’s net with projection.

This was the third consecutive defeat for PAOK in Toumba, something that had happened since 1965!

Sven Jablonski (Germany) showed a yellow card to Bakayoko, Kamara, Karmo.
