Libreville, Thursday, May 18, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The Gabonese international himself announced his comeback within the national football team of Gabon.
What was only a simple rumor until then was finally confirmed by the person concerned. In a post published on his Instagram page, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang announced his return to the Panthers of Gabon, following the mediation of President Ali Bongo Ondimba. “A few days ago, I had the immense honor of being received by the President of the Republic of my country and, at the same time, being able to listen to the wise words that he transmitted to me like a father talking to his son. Following this, I therefore put myself at the disposal of my country and of the coach Patrice Neveu with whom of course we exchanged. Once a panther, always a panther,” the former captain wrote.
After leaving the group prematurely during the last African Cup of Nations (CAN) football organized in Cameroon, the Chelsea striker took his supporters at the start by announcing his international retirement. He will face alongside his teammates on June 18 in Franceville the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as part of the qualifiers for the next CAN scheduled in Côte d’Ivoire in 2024.
