“As a result of yesterday’s attack, 8,000 Taliban with 350 off-roader repulsed and ambushed after four hours of fighting. They suffered heavy losses, as 450 terrorists were annihilated and another 130 were arrested,” Dashti tweeted.
“The resistance fighters are moving closer to the provinces of Badakhshan, Kapisa and Baghlan,” said the spokesman for the National Resistance Front (NRF).

It was previously reported that the Taliban claimed to have seized a key position at the main entrance to the Panjshir valley, the only Afghan province still outside Taliban control.

Panjshir fighters denied the Taliban had made progress to seize the valley.

“The Taliban launched a major operation to capture the Panjshir valley on Thursday (2/9), after negotiations with the local resistance movement failed,” said Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.
