Monday 1is March, the blood donation association chaired by Christiane Padet, organizes its first blood drive of the year in partnership with the French Blood Establishment.
Nicole Duthel, secretary of the association, recalls that “Covid-19 does not prevent hospitals from treating other pathologies. We must mobilize to maintain the stocks. One hour of your time saves three lives. When you donate whole blood, all of the blood components are taken at the same time and the three main ones are used (red blood cells, plasma and platelets). The patient himself never receives the entire bag taken during the donation, but only the components that are necessary for him. “
Everything is done for optimal safety of donors and staff. Any travel related to blood collection after the curfew is authorized. Remember to bring the “curfew” certificate, and tick the reason “assistance to vulnerable people”.
Favor meetings.
