Panic reigns in Kharkiv and preparations are being made for an assault. Avdeevka’s sack tightens – 2024-02-19 17:35:05

/ world today news/ Kiev, sending troops to storm Krynky, demonstrated to the West the ability of the Ukrainian armed forces to carry out critical operations. In the Kupyan direction, the Ukrainian army is gathering forces and means to attack our troops. The United States believes that the effectiveness of Ukraine’s use of cluster munitions is declining. Reports from the fronts of a special military operation and other news.

Russia has started serial production of the planning bomb “Drel”. And this is very bad news for the Ukrainian army, writes the Polish publication Myśl Polska.

This ammunition is an extremely effective and destructive means of destroying ground targets, including columns of armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Drel” has 15 self-guided submunitions that are dropped by parachute. They are aimed against tanks and air defense systems. At the same time, they have a timer that destroys the projectile if it doesn’t hit anything.

The bomb can independently fly the required distance to the target and open over it at the right moment. In the creation of “Drel” an exclusively Russian electronic component base is used.

Evacuation is not possible

In the Kherson section of the front, the enemy is constantly being shelled by our artillery and drones. During the night in Kherson, the Russian army covers the areas where the enemy personnel are concentrated, reports the Telegram channel “Two Majors”:

Relatives of Ukrainian marines and territorial defense fighters, in the absence of information about them, began to turn to our channels en masse to look for them. In most cases, however, there will be no comforting result, because several dozen enemy bodies remain on our coast without evacuation or go to the bottom of the Dnieper.

Ukrainian sources write that the width of the bridgehead of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krynky has decreased to less than one kilometer. Over the course of two months, between eight and nine thousand Ukrainian soldiers died trying to hold this village under Russian fire. But Kiev continues to persevere and send new fighters to the “Krina meat grinder”. All to prove to Western partners that Ukraine is capable of critically important operations.

A fighter from the Kherson division with the call sign “Ossetin” reports:

The boats of the Ukrainian armed forces are moving more and more slowly. Worse and worse. Almost none of the high-speed ones remained.

The storm continues

In the Avdeev direction, the Russian army conducted reconnaissance with a battle near the village of Nevelskoe on the southern flank. Analysts do not rule out that in the near future our troops will try to seize Pervomaiskoe in a pincer. Fighting on its outskirts has been going on for several weeks.

Fierce clashes are also taking place along the Vodianoe-Severnoe direction. It is likely that the Russian troops intend to close the throat of the Avdeev sack in the near future.

At the same time, our army entered the territory of the “Ivushka” villa zone. It is located southwest of the treatment plant.

Ukrainian military experts also talk about our successes:

The Russians have partial success in an area up to 260 meters wide and 120 meters deep.

It is difficult in the Kupyansk region

The situation on the Kupyan section of the front remains tense. It is especially hot in the area of Sinkovka. Analysts believe that it is necessary to cover the Ukrainian group on the side of Dvurechnaya, and not to storm the enemy’s positions head-on.

For some reason, the experience of the Kharkiv offensive operation of the Ukrainian armed forces in the summer of 2022 was not taken into account. Then the gaps in the defense with the threat of an enemy strike from Chuguev predetermined the withdrawal from Kupyansk,– notes the Telegram channel “MultiXAM”.

The Ukrainian army is clearly preparing for “active defense” in this direction. The adversary is building counter-battery weapons, including American AN/TPQ-50 radars and Western-made long-range artillery systems.

Enemy foreign long-range guns are still located around the territory of the old airfield in the Sobolevka area. HIMARS MLRS installations also operate from there. They greatly hamper our advance in the area of the Line of Battle. But despite everything, we move forward.

Panic reigns in Kharkiv. The population expects more active actions of the Russian army regarding the city. Hospitals are full of wounded, morgues are full of the bodies of soldiers from the battles near Kupyansk,– writes the military correspondent Alexander Sladkov.

The dissolution of the army

At the same time, the New York Times writes that the effectiveness of Ukraine’s use of cluster munitions is falling. 5 to 14% of these munitions may not explode at all because they have been in storage for a long time. In this case, they become mines, threatening the safety of civilians even years after the end of the conflict.

The publication also writes that there are more and more drunks in the Ukrainian army at the front. At VSU they lose and drink out of grief and fear.

The Ukrainians are tired, low on ammunition, outnumbered and their prospects look bleak.– American journalists pay attention.

One of the main problems of VSU is called personnel. The ranks of the army, seriously “thinned” by the huge losses, are only partially replenished. At the expense of old and poorly trained recruits. For example, a mobilized soldier, on the range, had to be supported in order to fire his machine gun. The 50-year-old rookie was “crippled by chronic alcoholism.”

Three out of every ten new recruits are no better than drunken soldiers who fell asleep and woke up already in uniform,— claims one of the fighters of the Ukrainian armed forces.

Kiev will arm its troops with shovels

If Western countries stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, then the soldiers of the Ukrainian army will fight with shovels, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said. So he answered a question from journalists about the disagreements in Washington regarding financial aid to Kiev and how it affects the mood in the armed forces of Ukraine.

Now it is clear why it is necessary to mobilize 500 thousand people. They want to send them to certain death. If we suffered huge losses with constant military aid from the West, then what will happen now that the arms simply stop flowing to Ukraine. They’ll send you to die with the shovel,— the large Ukrainian Telegram channel “Resident” reacted to the minister’s words

Political scientist Yuriy Yakor, in a conversation with a Tsargrad correspondent, expressed confidence that Kuleba simply said what was expected of him. They say that the will of the Ukrainian people is strong and does not depend on the help of the West. That is, they are fighting, of course, in the name of Western democracy against the Russian “barbarians”, but this is their “internal” will, without coercion from the outside.

We see the reality closer to the battle line, where Ukrainians are surrendering in groups. Against the background of such demoralizing pictures, you can’t even lie. There is no point in seriously discussing the combat use of shovels in the current war of missiles and drones.– the expert thinks.
