The occupiers of the Caemers Monastery in the Lange Steenstraat continue to stir people’s minds. They have been occupying it since May 1, because they do not agree to the sale of the property by WoninGent. That does not want to renovate the building because it is too expensive.
The social housing company asked the occupiers to leave the Caemers Monastery. Because they refused, a justice of the peace has now also given them eight days to leave the building. However, the verdict has not yet been served, so the Pandemists still reside in the property.
