The corona incidence in Berlin has continued to fall.
On Saturday, the value was 343.9, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) emerges. The day before, the number was almost 370. The incidence indicates the number of new infections detected per 100,000 people within seven days. Nationwide, the incidence on Saturday was 544, according to the RKI.
According to the situation report of the Berlin Senate, 1623 new corona infections were reported across Berlin between Friday and Saturday. This brings the total number registered since the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020 to 1,013,755.
However, experts assume that many cases go undetected because not all rapid tests are reliable and because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. In addition, not all health authorities report their data on a daily basis.
According to the statistics, three new deaths related to Covid-19 have also been added. A total of 4509 deaths related to corona infections have been counted in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic.
