Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Village Residents Pandeglang, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, regrets the assistance rice sent via PT Pos Indonesia is not suitable for eating. Even when the sack is opened, the rice is round like a brownish stone.
On the sack it says ‘PPKM Rice Aid 2021’ which is distributed to residents of Pandeglang on Monday-Tuesday, 2-3 August 2021. Still in the same sack, there is also the inscription ‘Medium Bulog Rice 10kg’.
“Rice from Bulog is PKH assistance come back again to the village, bring two sacks. You can’t eat this rice, you feel disappointed,” said Uki, said a local resident, met by media crews at the Pandeglang Village office, Thursday (5/8).
According to Pandeglang Village Head, M. Appendi, he admitted that the rice came from Bulog which was sent through PT Pos Indonesia. The kelurahan party only provides a place for the delivery of rice, which is then distributed directly to the community by PT Pos.
“The one who distributes it directly is PT Pos, we don’t know this kind of rice. We are surprised, because we only provide a place. The distribution mechanism is PT Pos,” he said.
Appendi admitted that it was the first time he had received rice that was of poor quality and could not be eaten by humans. He claims, if there is assistance that is channeled through the kelurahan, he always checks it first. If it does not match, it will be returned to its original owner.
“We report it to the leadership, to find out and follow up on rice findings like this. Because this is written about premium rice. This is the first time this has happened. Usually there is food assistance, we check it first, if it doesn’t match we will coordinate with the social service,” he said.
Then PT Pos Indonesia Pandeglang Branch admitted that it was only in charge of sending rice. Meanwhile, the provider and those who know the quality are from PT Bulog.
“We are just as transporter just. Regarding the quality of rice, it is the domain of the provider, Bulog,” said Andri Maulana, Manager of PT Pos Indonesia Pandeglang Branch, to representatives of the media crew via his cell phone.
