An earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 6.7 occurred in Sumur District, Pandeglang, Banten. In addition to making residents panic, not far from the epicenter of the earthquake, the Director General of Dukcapil Zudan Arif Fakrulloh and Regent Irna Narulita were known to be in the Panimbang area, Pandeglang.
Zulfan and Irna are known to have come there to inaugurate the Disdukcapil Integrated Service Unit (UPT) in Panimbang. The strong earthquake shock had made the event temporarily suspended due to panic among the residents.
“Earlier, the program was stopped, after it was conducive, it was resumed again. It felt really big,” said the Head of the General Secretariat of the Pandeglang Regency, Dr. Firmansyah to detik.com via telephone, Friday (14/1/2022).

When the earthquake occurred, Firman was known to be at that location. Now, Irna and Zulfan have returned to Pandeglang after the 6.7 M earthquake rocked the Banten region.
“Now we are on our way back to Pandeglang. Thank God the regent and the director general are fine,” he concluded.
Scary Atmosphere
Behind the panic story, it turned out that there was one resident who had experienced such a tense atmosphere. How not, the resident reportedly fainted while avoiding the shock of the earthquake.
The information obtained, the resident is named Sarwiti from Citeureup Village, Panimbang District, Pandeglang. The woman, who was in her 50s, fell unconscious when residents in her village rushed out of their houses when an earthquake measuring 6.6 magnitude rocked the Pandeglang area.
“Some people fainted this afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Maybe they were so shocked when the residents ran away when there was an earthquake,” said Ari, a local resident when talking to detikcom via telephone, Friday (1/14/2022).
Fortunately, the women were immediately evacuated by residents when the others rushed out of their homes to save themselves from the shock of the earthquake. He was then taken to the house of one of the residents until his condition returned to normal.
“He was unconscious for about 15 minutes, now he’s awake. He’s back home again,” he said.
Ari also told that residents in his village had run out of their homes to save when the earthquake occurred. In fact, there are some residents who are ready to evacuate to higher ground for fear of a tsunami.
“There were also those who fled earlier, they were ready to take their motorbikes and their belongings. But now, Alhamdulillah, the situation has calmed down, the situation is not like before, it’s time to go home,” he concluded.
