Panasonic Lumix S 35mm f / 1.8 completes the quartet

The Panasonic Lumix S 35mm f / 1.8 will be the fourth and final lens of the same size, after the already launched Lumix S 50mm f / 1.8 lenses, the Lumix S 85mm portrait camera and the Lumix S 24mm f / 1.8.

The Panasonic Lumix S 35mm f / 1.8 thus has the same appearance, size and functionality as the other three lenses in the series, all to be able to quickly and easily change lenses but maintain the same balance in the camera body, for example a gimbal-mounted camera body.

The lens consists of 11 lens elements in 9 groups including three aspherical lenses and three ED lenses. The three aspherical lens elements must contribute to, among other things, fine bokeh.

The brightness, focal length and function of the lens make it suitable for both still and video, just like the other three in the series. During video recording, the lens also has the function of adjusting the sensitivity of the focus ring, with the possibility to change the ring control between non-linear and linear, with a linear rotation angle between 90-360 degrees in steps of 30 degrees.

The lens has 9 rounded aperture blades with a minimum aperture of f / 22. The close limit is 0.24m, the weight is 295 grams. The filter size is 67mm. The lens is also weatherproof.

Panasonic Lumix S 35mm f/1,8 has a recommended price of SEK 7,990 including VAT. The lens will be available from the end of November 2021.

In connection with the release of the new lens, Panasonic also says that they are developing a new f / 1.8 lens for the S-series of 18mm. Whether the lens follows the same design language or size is not revealed.

In addition, firmware updates of some cameras launch: GH5S, G9 and BGH1.
