Panasonic develops a wireless headphone vacuum cleaner – already in use at a station in Tokyo

Panasonic and the East Japan Railway presented joint development – a vacuum cleaner to pick up wireless headphones and other small objects that have fallen on the rails.

As it turned out, from July to September, 950 customers contacted Tokyo railway workers after dropping their wireless headphones onto the tracks. East Japan Railway did not remain indifferent to this problem, so together with Panasonic they attended to the creation of an effective solution that would allow the headphones to be lifted immediately.

Previously, this had to either wait for the last train to safely descend on the rails, or try to pick up headphones and other objects with the help of garbage collection tongs, which are ineffective at picking up small things.

The innovative vacuum cleaner is currently in test mode at the Ikebukuro JR East station, and Panasonic plans to release a special version for private use.
