Directors of the National Foundation for the Development of STEAM (FUNDESTEAM) confirmed that all the winning students of the National Robotics Olympiad and their respective tutors will travel to represent Panama in the World Robotics Olympiad to be held in Izmir, Turkey.
They indicated that the Ministry of Education (Meduca), last Friday, guaranteed the necessary funds to cover registration expenses, plane tickets and hotel for the eight robotics teams and their tutors, with a total of 31 people including students and coaches. .
That since this Tuesday, with the funds received, we have proceeded to cover the necessary expenses so that the robotics teams can travel on time and be part of this great global call for science and technology in Turkey.
“We thank the Ministry of Education, both the past administration for budgeting and endorsing the funds, and the new administration that has honored the commitment and deposited the funds, which make the trip of the Panamanian team possible,” said Marvin Castillo, president of FUNDESTEAM.
He stated that he hopes that the new administration will continue to support students from all schools in the country in the different competitions and that the winners of the National Robotics Olympics will be able to represent our country every year.
The trip to Turkey is scheduled for November 26 and the World Robotics Olympiad will take place from November 28 to 30, which this year has the theme “Allies of the Earth.”
“There is great expectation for Panama’s participation in this world fair and we are very proud of all our teams who are finalizing details of their different projects every day to raise the name of Panama,” concluded Marvin Castillo.
