Panama City, June 22. The Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) reported this Wednesday of 1,957 new cases of covid-19 and no deaths from the disease, but updates 3 from a previous date, to reach a cumulative total of 908,392 confirmed infections and 8,332 deaths in more two years of pandemic.
The Minsa report indicates that there are 34 patients admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICU) and 197 in the ward, while 15,637 are isolated at home and 19 in hotels, for a global of 15,887 active cases.
The patients who have healed account for 884,173 since March 9, 2020, when the first case of contagion occurred in Panama, where covid has a fatality rate of 0.9%, which remains one of the lowest in the Latin American region. .
On this day, 10,470 tests were applied to detect cases of covid, which showed a positivity of 18.7%. Panama has 6,502,791 tests applied to date.
