Panama and CAF report on educational infrastructure projects

The Panama Ministry of Education and the Latin American Development Bank CAF reported on the progress of work in two educational centers in the Panamá Oeste province.

With an investment of $ 17 million, the construction of the Moisés Castillo Ocaña school reaches 34% progress, according to the ministry, which cited the news agency ANPanamá. The facility will house 3,400 students and will include classrooms, laboratories, a gym, a basketball court, a building for bands and a water tank.

The construction of the José Encarnación Escala basic education center will cost $ 10 million and is 84% ​​completed. The center, for 900 students, will have classrooms, laboratories, a dining room, a perimeter fence, football fields and a water reserve tank.

“These schools are part of the action and development that CAF is carrying out with more than eight school projects in Panama, costing $ 400 million, and the goal is to support and include more schools,” said Sebastián Abbatemarco, director of projects in the southern region of the CAF vice-presidency for sustainable development, according to ANPanamá.
