PAN rejects Mayor’s political intervention in Congress

Mexico City. The coordinator of the PAN deputies, Noemí Berenice Luna Ayala, disapproved of the fact that the Secretary of the Interior, Luisa María Alcalde, gave a message when delivering the sixth Government Report of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to the Congress of the Union.

He stressed that the Political Coordination Board did not authorize a message from the official and “much less that she come to speak as the leader of a political party” at the General Congress session.

The PAN member reproached the board of directors headed by Morena member Ifigenia Martínez for having ignored the request of a legislator to make a motion of order against the official’s actions.

The dissatisfaction of the PAN continued to the point that the deputy Federico Doring asked that his rejection of the Secretary of the Interior be included in the minutes of the session, while the PVEM, through Jorge Carlos Ramírez Marín, gave his support to the decisions taken by the board of directors, since the official had the right to intervene when she delivered the report. The request of the PAN legislator was rejected by the majority.

From the PAN benches the refrain of “tough”, “tough”, “tough” was heard in support of Luna Ayala’s statements, while from the Morena benches the chant “out”, “out” was heard.

The coordinator of the PAN deputies described her party as the most important of the opposition and as the “resistance,” after insisting that the majority of Morena and its allies is artificial and that 43 percent of the voters did not vote for them.

He also said that the PAN attended the session of the installation of Congress with the full conviction that it will be a responsible opposition, but determined to fulfill its mission of defending the institutions of the Mexican state.
