Mexico City. The PAN criticized Morena’s decision to name Gerardo Fernández Noroña as president of the Senate’s Board of Directors. “It is the most inappropriate profile,” said leader Marko Cortés, who said he was surprised by such a decision, since in the ranks of the cherry party, the Green Party and the PT there were many other people who could be ideal to call for order and good leadership.
Before registering as a senator, he said that the issue will be discussed in his parliamentary group to determine what his position will be on the matter.
Cortés Mendoza tried to avoid the topic of the two PRD members who joined the ranks of Morena, saying that he still has no evidence that this has happened.
“I have not seen a video, I cannot confirm it, although all the elements indicate that it is so, I would like them to honor the vote they received from the opposition,” he added in an interview in the Senate.
He highlighted that in the case of the Michoacan senator, Araceli Saucedo, she had more votes for the National Action Party than for the PRD itself.
“This is a space for people who believe that there must be balance, counterbalance, as was also the case with the senator from Tabasco. I hope that they honor the trust that Mexicans gave them to come and defend the voice of those who do not agree, of those who think that in Mexico there must always be balance, counterbalance and constitutional control,” added the PAN leader.
