Palworld is out for PlayStation 5, having previously been released for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It is surprising that the game has not yet been released in Japan and the developer Pocketpair has not announced the game for release in its own country.

During the PlayStation state of play Sony also took care of the release of Palworld on PlayStation 5. The game has been available on the console in 68 countries since September 24. Japan is not just one of these countries. This is surprising because the developer Pocketpair is a Japanese studio. According to one a message Pocketpair’s official Twitter account says that it is still unclear when the game will be released in Japan. The developer does not provide further explanation.

Palworld was released at the beginning of this year and was delivered within a week two million players. This makes it one of the most popular games of the year. In the game, players have to catch Pals, and then they can fight. The game is often compared to Pokémon and described as Pokémon with guns.

Nintendo also noticed the Pokémon similarities earlier this month a lawsuit to start with the Pokémon Company against the creator of Palworld, Pocketpair. According to Nintendo, the game infringes on the company’s patents.

Palworld has been available in the Netherlands for PlayStation 5 since September 24. The game costs 29 euros in the PlayStation Store.
